Position
Summary:
The Adjunct
Instructor, ISOB, teaches courses in accounting, finance, and management.
Multiple Adjunct Instructors are needed for the spring and fall
2009 semesters. Opportunities for longer-term teaching assignments
may become available.
Required
Qualifications:
- A
Ph.D. or a D.B.A in accounting, finance, or management. A master's
degree with appropriate professional certifications (CPA, CMA,
CFP, CFA, etc.) will also be considered.
- Previous
teaching experience and proven effective teaching methods
- Experience
and comfort working in a team-oriented environment
Desired
Qualifications:
- Previous
experience teaching and academic advising at the college or university
level
- Availability
to work as an Adjunct Instructor on a long-term basis
- Ability
and willingness to serve the university and the university community
beyond basic teaching requirements
- Experience
working with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
Essential
Responsibilities:
- Teach
various undergraduate courses in one or more of the following
areas: Accounting (courses include Principles of Accounting, Intermediate
Accounting, Advanced Accounting, International Accounting, Management
Accounting), Finance (courses include Corporate Finance, Global
Finance, Financial Management, Investments, Options and Futures
(and derivatives), Financial Markets and Institutions, Personal
Finance, Insurance, Estate Planning, and Retirement Benefits Planning),
and Management (courses include International Business, Leadership,
Production & Operation Management, and International Business
Law).
- Provide
academic advisement to students
- Encourage
student growth and development
- Perform
other duties as required or assigned
- Adhere
to university policies and procedures
- Work
collegially and professionally with students, employees and external
constituents
- Support
institutional identity and mission of Finlandia University as
“a learning community dedicated to academic excellence, spiritual
growth, and service”

Position Summary:
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology and Human
Services is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position . The duties
of the Assistant/Associate Professor include teaching assignments,
student advising, curriculum development, university service, and
other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
1. A doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology or social work
2. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically
and culturally diverse campus community
Desired Qualifications:
1. A license or license-eligibility in Michigan
2. College or university teaching experience
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Teach psychology and human services courses in bachelor degree
programs
2. Supervise university students working/learning in field placements
3. Advise students by providing academic guidance and support for
development of professional practice skills.
4. Participate in the evaluation and development of academic program
curricula
5. Participate in collaborative projects and/or research with public
health professionals
6. Participate in curricular and program assessment
7. Perform various administrative duties as required and assigned
8. Serve on appropriate university committees as assigned
9. Assist other university departments in recruiting and retaining
students
10. Adhere to university policies and procedures
11. Work collegially and professionally with students, employees,
and external constituents
12. Support institutional identity and mission of Finlandia University
as “a learning community dedicated to academic excellence,
spiritual growth, and service”
13. Perform other duties as required, as assigned by supervisor,
or in accordance with the faculty handbook
