Artist of Studio Arts/Intermedia Position Summary: The Finlandia University International School of Art & Design seeks a visiting artist of studio arts, beginning August 2013. We seek a candidate with an established career in two or more intermedia/studio art areas, such as painting, drawing, illustration, and digital applications. The responsibilities of the position will be to teach, oversee studio art research, and university committee work. Active service in the school, the university, and at community levels is also expected. Candidates must have a track record as change agents and the ability to inspire students in their creative endeavors. Candidates should have teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and the flexibility to adapt to an evolving curriculum emphasizing creativity, critical thinking, and applied practices. Instructor /Skills Lab Coordinator Position Summary: The Clinical Instructor/Skills Lab Coordinator is primarily responsible for the instruction, testing, and supervision of sophomore-level nursing students in the on-campus skills lab and at clinical settings. Sophomore-level clinical experiences focus on foundational nursing skills and include areas such as medical-surgical, home health, community mental-health, and long-term care. The Clinical Instructor/Skills Lab Coordinator works under the direct supervision of a lead faculty member(s). The Clinical Instructor/Skills Lab Coordinator is also responsible for the coordination of skills lab activities. Professor, Nursing (Fundamentals,
Medical-Surgical) Position Summary: The Assistant Professor of Nursing is primarily responsible for the teaching and supervision of sophomore-level nursing students in the classroom and at clinical settings. Sophomore-level clinical settings include medical-surgical, home health, and long-term care areas, and focus on foundational nursing skills. Teaching responsibilities include the development and delivery of courses in areas such as nursing fundamentals, basic nursing skills, health assessment, the nursing process, and other courses as assigned. The Assistant Professor will also assist with the supervision of students in the outpatient mental health clinical setting. Additional academic duties include participation in assessment activities, committee assignments, and academic advising.
