Fulbright Finland Speaker Suzanne Louis on Campus
November 9 9:00 am - 10:15 am EDT
Suzanne Louis, M.A., a Project Consultant at Fulbright Finland in Helsinki will be at Finlandia on Thursday, November 9 from 9 to 10:15 a.m. in Nikander 14B to share information about the grant programs, application process, and highlights of the unique opportunities offered by Fulbright in Finland. Suzanne has been working with Fulbright Finland for over 10 years coordinating the American alumni network, providing orientation services for grantees, and developing the Friends of Fulbright Finland Alumni Fund. She is a Centennial Finland Ambassador for 2017, along with Marlene Broemer, who will be hosting the event.
This will be an information question and answer session after she presents some basic information. Brochures will be available. All staff and faculty are invited, and you can come and go as your schedule permits.
Suzanne Louis was the Director of the Lorna Sundberg International Center at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, where she worked in the International Studies Office for 25 years. She has vast experience with overseas student programs and international travel. Suzanne was a Fulbright Mid-Career Professional Development grantee to Finland herself in 2001-2002 and has many past experiences to share with those who might be interested in planning for a study or scholarly year abroad. Application deadlines require advance planning, so it’s never too early to start thinking about how you can finally hear someone say to you, “Welcome to Finland,” “Tervetuloa Suomeen,” “Välkommen till Finland.”
