HANCOCK, MI - The Finlandia
University Finnish American Heritage Center announces its fall slate of community
enrichment classes. All classes meet at the Finnish American Heritage Center,
Hancock.
A ten-week "Introductory
Finnish Language" course will meet Mondays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. starting
October 3. The class is instructed by Liisa and Kevin Manninen. The cost: $50
per person.
A ten-week "Intermediate
Finnish Language: Conversational Skills" course will meet Tuesdays from 5:15 to
6:15 p.m. starting October 4. The class is instructed by Anna Leppänen. The
cost is $50 per person.
A ten-week "Advanced Finnish
Language: Grammar, Translation, and Writing" course will meet Tuesdays from
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. beginning October 4. The class is instructed by Hannu
Leppänen. The cost is: $50 per person.
An eight-week "Five-String
Kantele" course will meet Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. beginning October 3.
The class is instructed by Kay Seppala. The class will not meet October 24 and
October 31. This is an "advanced beginners" class. The cost for the class is $40.
Kanteles may be rented for the duration of the course for $5. Call instructor
Kay Seppala at 906-523-6271 to determine if this is the right class for you and
to reserve a kantele.
