Checking Out Library Materials
Please bring Your Finlandia ID or Library Card with you when you come to the Library.
Library Cards
Finlandia students, Faculty, and staff receive a Bar Code to be placed on their Finlandia ID Card. Residents of the Western Upper Peninsula who are at least 16 years old showing a valid Michigan driver's license or Michigan State ID may be given a Courtesy Card.
Finlandia students and Courtesy Card borrowers may borrow books and videos for 5 weeks, except at ends of the semesters for students.
Finlandia Faculty and Staff may borrow all materials, except those with restricted circulation, until the end of the current semester.
Renewals
In most cases, materials may be renewed. To renew, bring the material(s) to the library or call (906) 487-7252.
Fines
Fines are $0.50 per day, accruing up to $5.00. If the material is not returned, the following charges will be levied:
$30.00 Replacement, $5.00 Processing, $5.00 Fine -- Total $40.00
A student's library charge-out privileges will be discontinued and transcripts and diplomas withheld, if library charges remain unpaid.
Audio-Visual Equipment
The library maintains most of the classroom TVs, VCRs, and overhead projectors. A TV and VCR are also available in the Library Conference Room for student or group use. Other pieces of equipment are available for short-term check-out. These include:
Multimedia projectors
Laptop computers
DVD player
More VCRs
Boom Box
Tape players and recorder
Video cameras
Slide projectors
Digital camera
Additional equipment that is available for use in the library for use includes:
