Parking Information

Finlandia University’s Department of Campus Safety and Security is excited to welcome you to campus, and invites you to learn more about the options available to students, employees and visitors for parking.

Vehicle Registration Process and Parking for Residential Students
  1. Register your vehicle with the Department of Campus Safety & Security upon arrival or during orientation/check-in. The registration form is available at the bottom of this page. Please bring your vehicle registration as it contains the vital vehicle identification needed such as vehicle make, model, and license plate number. Parking permits are issued free of cost.
  2. Once issued a parking permit, please place permit on the lower passenger portion of the front windshield immediately.
  3. Residents are required to park overnight in the Upper Paavo Parking Lot. Vehicles parked in other locations between Midnight and 7 a.m. will be ticket and/or towed at owners expense. Outside of the hours indicated above, residents may park in other lots/areas on campus which are not posted as designated Faculty/Staff or Handicap parking only. Parking maps are available upon request.
  4. The City of Hancock enforces a winter parking ordinance from November 1 – April 30. This ordinance bans the parking of vehicles on a city street between the hours of Midnight a.m. and 6 a.m., so that public works personnel may appropriately tend to winter street maintenance. If found in violation, Hancock City Police will ticket and/or tow at the owners expense. The parking areas located on Summit and Franklin Streets are city streets, and will be patrolled routinely.
  5. Students who have unresolved/unpaid tickets will have a hold placed on their student account and will not be able to sign-up for upcoming semesters classes. Finlandia University may revoke a student’s parking privileges upon receipt of three+ parking tickets.
