2013 "Small Spaces: Significant Sway" Exhibition The Finlandia University Reflection Gallery, Hancock, will host "Small Spaces, Significant Sway," an exhibit of work by fifteen professional graphic designers, from March 4 to March 29, 2013. A closing reception for the exhibit will be held at the gallery on Thursday, March 28, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served. Curated by Robert Grame, Finlandia associate professor of graphic design, the exhibition highlights diverse and thought-provoking work from designers across the United States. "The work will demonstrate the value and diversity of design," says Grame. "'Small Spaces, Significant Sway' explores the power of small design artifacts that deliver incredible and indelible impact." The Reflection Gallery is located on the second level of Finlandia's Jutila Center campus, 200 Michigan Street, Hancock, MI 49930. 2013 Visiting Artist: Matthew J. Frock 2012-13 Visiting Artist: Marja Lianko The 21st Contemporary Finnish American Artist Series exhibit, “Marja Lianko: From There to Here,” will be featured at the Finlandia University Gallery, located in the Finnish American Heritage Center, Hancock, from December 6, 2012, to January 12, 2013. FINLANDIA UNIVERSITY GALLERY 2012 Visiting Artist: Kristin Stanchina The Finlandia Reflection Gallery is hosting a Painting exhibit, ―"I am from" by artist Krintina Stanchina. I am from" is a collection of work that illustrates Stanchina's past, present, and future. Stanchina, from Tapiola, Mich, is 100% Finnish. 2011 Visiting Artist: Margaret Parker The Finlandia Reflection Gallery hosted a sculpture and installation exhibit, ―Shirts and Skins,‖ by artist Margaret Parker. Parker was on campus the first week of November and conducted a public workshop at Finlandia Hall , working with students and community members to create a installation in the first-floor lounge at the university‘s residence hall. 2011 Visiting Artist: Tracy Krumm Explorations: The Flexible Linear Element,‖ an exhibit of work by artists Tracy Krumm and Carol Lambert, was featured at the Finlandia University Gallery, located in the Finnish American Heritage Center, Hancock, September 22 to October 22, 2011.
