Submit this application with your portfolio work to the Finlandia University by June 1, 2014. This scholarship is for entry to the FinnStyle Scholarship competition only. You must also have an admission application currently on file with Finlandia University to be considered for this scholarship. Admissions applications can be found at www.finlandia.edu/admissions.
The scholarship shall be awarded as $500 per semester, totaling no more than $1,000 per academic year. To qualify for consideration of the FinnStyle Scholarship the student must meet the following criteria:
• Enrolled as a freshman with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
• Enrolled as a full-time student, carrying an academic load of 12 or more credits
• Enrolled in the International School of Art and Design
• Recipient is required to send a thank you letter upon receipt of the initial award.
• Continuation of the scholarship for second semester is contingent upon being enrolled in the International School of Art and Design with a GPA of no less than 2.5
Selection of the recipient will be determined by the standard collaborative administrative and scholarship committee processes at Finlandia University in coordination with the Dean of Students in the International School of Art and Design. It is also a requirement of scholarship recipients at Finlandia University to write a personal thank you letter to the individual, family, or organization funding the scholarship.

The Dave and Elsa Brule Scholarship Competition will be held on Saturday, April 12th, 2014, at Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design. The scholarship competition, which will award $30,000 in total over four years to one student, recognizes student achievement and talent. The award is granted provided that the student meets the maintenance requirements of the scholarship outlined in the notification letter.
This competition is open to incoming freshman students in all media including but not limited to illustration & painting (studio arts), ceramics, fashion & fiber, graphic design, digital art, and integrated design. The International School of Art & Design faculty will evaluate the work based on composition, concept, range, craftsmanship, and originality.
Please note: Certain restrictions apply. The scholarship is available only to an incoming freshman. Awards are disbursed based on full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours per semester). The scholarship begins in the fall 2014 enrollment, for four consecutive years.

The Dave and Elsa Brule Transfer Scholarship will be awarded on May 9th, 2014. The scholarship competition, which will award $5,000, recognizes student talent and achievement.
The competition is open to all college students who are transferring from another university. All media is welcome, including but not limited to illustration, studio arts, ceramics, fashion and fiber, graphic design, digital art and integrated design. The work will be evaluated on composition, concept, range, craftsmanship, and originality.
Please note: The scholarship is available only to transfer students. Awards are distributed based on full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester). The scholarship begins in the academic year 2013-2014 and is non-renewable.
