Finlandia Campus Ministry

Mission Statement

The mission of Finlandia Campus Ministry is to encourage spiritual growth within the Finlandia community.  Finlandia Campus Ministry encourages spiritual growth by offering grace-centered accompaniment to students, faculty, and staff for the purpose of growing in faith toward God and love toward neighbor.

Finlandia Campus Ministry

Vision Statement

Grace-centered Accompaniment

Christian accompaniment is marked by love, honesty, respect, and a teachable heart.  The accompaniment practiced by Finlandia Campus Ministry is grace-centered.  That is, Finlandia Campus Ministry intends to walk alongside students, faculty, and staff in such a manner that the unconditional love of God offered to all in Jesus Christ may be clearly expressed and experienced.  Grace-centered accompaniment intends to nurture growth in faith toward God and love toward neighbor.

Faith Toward God

Faith toward God is nurtured through Christian practices such as the disciplined reading of Christian scripture, prayer and meditation, and study.  Finlandia Campus Ministry encourages community worship through Word and Sacrament so that God's unconditional love and favor offered in Jesus Christ is heard and received.  Finlandia Camus Ministry aims to provide opportunities for, and encourage participation in, these and other faith practices.  Finlandia Campus Ministry seeks to promote these disciplines in a manner that not only respects, but embraces, various faith traditions.

Love Toward Neighbor

Love toward neighbor is a response to God's sacrificial love revealed in Jesus Christ.  A neighbor is any person in need.  Finlandia Campus Ministry aims to provide meaningful opportunities for serving those in need, especially those needs that are physical and material.  Loving service includes advocacy for the world's poor and marginalized, working toward peace and justice, and caring for God's creation.
