Finlandia to host Point Guard College Basketball Clinic - March 14, 2008

LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE!

HANCOCK - Be a part of the Point Guard College basketball clinic hosted by the Finlandia University Basketball Programs.  Players will be challenged to think the game, regardless of position.  The Point Guard Collegte gives athletes the chance to improve leadership, develop fundamentals, and create an understanding of the game like never before!

This 1 day clinic for the dedicated athlete will be led by former All-American and WNBA draftee of the Indiana Fever last year, Lyndsey Meddars.  Meddars will teach participants the same skills and fundamentals and essentials that helped her lead the nation in assists in 2005 - 2006 as a four year starter at Iowa State University.

The clinic will be held at the Paavo Nurmi Center on the campus of Finlandia University Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Cost of the clinic is $75 per athlete (includes lunch) and $25 per observing coach (includes lunch).  Participating athletes must be currently in the 8th grade on up to college.   We are limiting the clinic to 60 athletes, so sign up early.  For more information or to sign up, please contact Curtis Wittenberg by  e-mail or by phone at 906-487-7214.

Fourth Annual Soccer Clinic at Finlandia - March 25, 2008

The Fourth Annual Finlandia University Spring Soccer Clinic will be held on Saturday April 19th at the Paavo Nurmi Athletic Center. The clinic will focus on fundamental footwork development. The clinic will be instructed by Finlandia's head men's and women's soccer coach Matt Griffith, and the Finlandia Lion soccer teams. The clinic is for ages 8-18. Youth Fundamental Basketball Camp - April 4, 2008

The annual Finlandia University Youth Fundamental Basketball Camp will be held on May 5th - 8th, 2008 at the Paavo Nurmi Athletic Center.  The clinic will be directed by Finlandia basketball coaches Charlie Kemppainen and Curtis Wittenberg.  The clinic is for grades 3 - 9.  The cost for the camp is $35.00 and each camper will receive a basketball.  Pre-registration is highly recommended.  For more information or to pre-register contact Curtis Wittenberg at 487-7214 or e-mail Curtis at curtis.wittenberg@finlandia.edu.
