October 13, Kolme Viisasta
Miestä (Three Wise Men, Finland, 2008) will be presented.
In this film directed
by Mika Kaurismäki, three childhood friends facing their own personal crises
meet by chance on Christmas Day and discuss their lives at a karaoke bar.
November 10, Törni: Sotilaan
Tarina (Törni: A Soldier's Tale, Finland, 2007), will be shown. This film
follows the life and career of Lauri Törni, a highly-decorated 20th
century Finnish soldier who served in the armies of three different nations.
The films are in the Finnish
language with English language subtitles. The Finnish American Heritage Center
is located on the campus of Finlandia University at 435 Quincy St., Hancock.
