Spaces Still Available for TRiO Student Support Services at Finlandia

TRiO SSS LogoHANCOCK, MI - New and returning students enrolled at Finlandia University have already started to take advantage of the no cost services provided by the TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) program, and spaces are still available.

Entirely funded by an annual $286,598 grant from the U.S. Department of Education, the TRiO SSS program at Finlandia provides up to 180 eligible Finlandia students with free academic support, tutoring, personal counseling, career services, financial literacy education, and a variety of other support services.

To meet TRiO SSS eligibility requirements, students must be first-generation college students, which means neither parent has completed a bachelor's degree; and/or have financial need; or have a documented disability.  Students must also have academic need.

Eligible students can participate in the TRiO program throughout their academic career at Finlandia.

Student Support Services is part of a family of federal TRiO programs, which also includes Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search. Finlandia University is a proud grantee for all three of these programs. All the TRiO programs work to help students succeed in high-school, college, and beyond.

To find out if you or your family member is eligible for TRiO SSS at Finlandia, please visit the program's office in Nikander Hall, Room 11, or call 906-487-7296.
