TRiO Student Support Services Has New Program Director
"I'm very excited to be working with TRiO programs at Finlandia again," Maloney says, the "again" referring to her position a few years ago as French instructor for the summer Upward Bound "mock college" program at Finlandia. Before joining Finlandia TRiO/SSS, Maloney was coordinator of the KBIC Even Start grant program in Baraga, for which she provided literacy services and GED instruction to parents with young children and ran the Adult Education program. She has also worked as a 4-H program instructor for the Ontonagon County Michigan State University Extension. Maloney has a bachelor of arts in English literature and French from Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids, and a master of arts in education from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. She lives in Greenland, Mich., where she is president of the Ontonagon County 4-H Council and serves on the Ontonagon County fair board.
