Finlandia to offer evening class on accounting basics
The Finlandia University International School of Business will be offering a basic accounting course for small business owners and other interested community members. The course will begin Tuesday, August 26, and last for 15 weeks.
BUS200 Fundamentals of Accounting (3 credits) introduces basic accounting concepts. The course is designed for non-accountants who would like to learn to read and analyze financial statements. The course will also teach you to manage budgets, control cash flows, and deal with audits and auditors. No prerequisites are needed, and some homework is required. The class meets Tuesday from 6:10 to 7:40 p.m. in Finlandia’s Nikander Hall.
The course may be audited for $225. A certificate of achievement will be awarded upon successful completion. The last day to register is Friday, August 29 by 4:30 p.m.
