Michael Baily Joins Finlandia Student Affairs Office
HANCOCK, MI -Michael Baily has recently joined Finlandia
University Student Affairs as the director of living and learning.
In his position, Baily is responsible for blending Academic
and Student Affairs by envisioning and implementing co-curricular programs that
align with Finlandia's mission of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and
service.
Baily will purposefully and creatively involve students in
multiple facets of the university and provide leadership and oversight for a
number of Student Affairs functions, including residential and commuter student
activities, student codes of conduct and judicial affairs, student government,
student clubs and organizations, student leadership development, and new
student orientation.
Baily has over 15 years of higher education experience,
including positions at Texas Tech University, Seton Hall University, the
University of Wyoming, and most recently the University of Texas at El Paso.
He has a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University
of South Florida and a master's of educational leadership from Middle Tennessee
State University. Baily is originally from Tampa, Fla.
Baily enjoys reading, baseball, and hiking. He has already
registered for the 10-mile walk at the 2012 Canal Run, which will take place this
July. He volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Sit for Peace, and National
Trails Day. He lives in Hancock.
