Finlandia to Host All-School Reunion June 25 to 27

HANCOCK, MI - Finlandia University invites all Finlandia and Suomi College alumni to an all-class reunion June 25 to 27, 2010.

Organized by the university's International Alumni Board and the Office of Alumni Relations, the four-day reunion includes a packed schedule of social gatherings, presentations, and other activities.

Reunion-goers definitely won't go hungry. On Friday, alumni can attend a barbeque and a Finnish cooking class. A pasty lunch is on the menu Saturday, and Saturday night is the gala alumni dinner and dance.

For the music lovers, an alumni choir will gather each day to practice a few selections for performance at a worship service Sunday morning.

And for those who want to venture a little further, a Red Jacket Trolley tour will transport alumni to South Range for a tour of Carousel Winery and the Keweenaw Brewing Company, a golf outing has been organized at the Calumet Golf Course, and a raku pottery workshop and lunch will take place in Pelkie.

A number of social gatherings have also been organized for various graduating classes.

Nominations for three Finlandia/Suomi alumni awards are being accepted until June 18: a Distinguished Alumni Service Award, a Young Alumni Award, and a Spirit of Finlandia Award. The awards will be presented at the gala dinner and dance Saturday, June 26.
