Artist Joyce Koskenmaki to Present Lecture April 5

HANCOCK, MI - Local artist Joyce Koskenmaki will present a public lecture Monday, April 5, 1:10 to 2:10 p.m., in the Community Training Room at the Finlandia University Jutila Center campus, Hancock.

The lecture, "How to Illustrate a Book as an Artist," is presented in conjunction with an exhibit of Koskenmaki's illustrations at Finlandia's Reflection Gallery April 1 to April 25.

The illustrations were produced for the recently-published book, "Naked in the Stream: The Isle Royale Stories," by Vic Foerster. In the drawings, Koskenmaki infuses the imagery often found in her paintings-land, sea, animals, and boats-into Foerster's storyline.
