Spaghetti Dinner for Travel to Tanzania is April 10

HANCOCK, MI - The Finlandia University Service & Learning in Tanzania program will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser Saturday, April 10, 2010, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Hancock.

Spaghetti with sauce, bread, and salad will be served. Both meat and vegetarian sauces will be available. Desserts will be available by donation.

Authentic baked Italian meat sauce will be prepared by Eva Vencato of Hancock, the grandmother of Finlandia student Justina Carver. Carver is one of this year's Service & Learning participants.

Proceeds from the dinner will help four Finlandia students travel to Tanzania this May for a four-week service experience at Kisarawe Secondary School, which is near the capital city of Dar es Salaam.

Tickets are $7.00 for adults, and $5.00 for children under 12 years. Children five years and younger eat free. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.
