"PANK" Editor to Lead Seminar Thursday

HANCOCK, MI - M. Bartley Seigel will present a Writer's Journey seminar about the literary avant-garde this Thursday, March 26, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Finlandia University Chapel of St. Matthew, Hancock.

Seigel will talk about his current writing projects, read from some of his work, and talk about PANK Magazine. He'll also discuss the current state of creative writing, contemporary literary publishing, the literary avant-garde, and why all of this matters in the Keweenaw.

M. Bartley Seigel is assistant professor of diverse literatures and creative writing at Michigan Technological University. He has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Eastern Michigan University and a master of fine arts in creative writing from Penn State.

Seigel is the founding editor of PANK Magazine. His work has been published in Dogzplot, Lit Up Magazine, 13 Miles from Cleveland, Alligator Juniper, Wheelhouse, DIAGRAM, and others.

The next Writer's Journey seminar is Thursday, April 2, when Suzanne Van Dam will talk about setting the scene in fiction writing.
