Special Film Screenings of "Under the Red Star" Thursday, March

HANCOCK, MI - The Finlandia University Finnish American
Heritage Center will present two screenings of the 2011 Canadian film, "Under
the Red Star" on Thursday, March 22, at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Written and directed by Kelly Saxberg, the film integrates
archival footage, photos, and fictionalized scenes to bring to life the early
years of Finnish immigration to Canada.
Saxberg will be in attendance at the screenings to discuss
the film and answer questions.
The 79-minute film is in English and Finnish, with English

Saxberg also directed the 2004 documentary film, "Letters
from Karelia."
