Student Nurses Mark Domestic Violence Month and Support Barbara Kettle Shelter October 12

HANCOCK, MI - To mark Domestic Violence Month this October, the Finlandia University Student Nurses' Organization will host a talk by Mary Niemela, outreach coordinator for the Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter, Tuesday, October 12, 12:10 p.m., at the university's Chapel of St. Matthew.

Before and after Niemela's talk, the student-nurses invite Finlandia students and the community to support the local women's shelter by purchasing a purple ribbon, and by donating women's deodorant and new combs and brushes-all items the shelter is currently in need of.

The community is also invited to wear purple on October 12 to acknowledge Domestic Violence month.
