Pasty Lunch and Art Auction at Finlandia, November 13, Noon to 3 pm

HANCOCK, MI - The Young Women's Caucus for Art at Finlandia University will host Afternoon Delight, a Pasty Lunch and Art Auction, Saturday, November 13, in the community room on the ground level of the Jutila Center, 200 Michigan St., Hancock.

Lunch will be served from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.; the art auction begins at 2:00 p.m. Music will be provided by Eve's Attic.

On the menu are a hearty beef or vegetarian pasty prepared by Kangas Café, a salad, and a side dish. The art pieces have been created by Finlandia Young Women's Caucus (YWC) members and local artists.

The event will raise funds for Finlandia YWC members to attend the 2011 Women's Conference for the Arts (WCA) in New York City.

The cost of the lunch is $10 a person. To-go pasty lunch boxes will be available, also for $10. Advance tickets may be purchased through a member of the YWC or by e-mail to Tickets may also be purchased at the door.

"You are cordially invited to attend a delightful afternoon full of delicious food, wonderful music, entertaining company, and a premier art auction," says Amanda Moyer, a Finlandia Art & Design senior and an officer of the YWC. "Music by Eve's Attic will create the perfect ambiance for a gathering with your family or friends, or for a lovely afternoon date with your significant other."

"Your support will greatly impact the future careers of these talented Finlandia students," adds Moyer. "So please gather your friends and family to join us Saturday, November 13, between noon and three, for a great meal, great music, and an opportunity to bid on premier art pieces."

The YWC, an internal caucus of the National Women's Caucus for Art, provides opportunities, networking, resources, and support to young women artists.
